Local officials in Farah province reported that a traffic accident has left two people dead and six others injured.
According to officials, the incident occurred on Saturday night, February 8, at the “Shaikh Abu-Nasr Farahi” port.
Abdul Naser Noorani, the district governor of Pushtkoh, Farah, stated that two cargo vehicles collided.
The health condition of the injured individuals has yet to be fully confirmed, and further details are awaited from local officials.
Excessive speed, failure to follow traffic rules, poor road conditions, and reckless driving are cited as the main causes of such accidents in the country.
The traffic police authorities have repeatedly urged drivers to exercise caution, follow traffic regulations, and adhere to speed limits, as road conditions in most areas of Afghanistan are reported to be hazardous.
People in Afghanistan also demand plans to inspect and repair the roads in the affected regions to prevent further accidents.
