Stanekzai says Islamic Emirate leaders must ensure education for all Afghans

Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, has called on the leaders of the de-facto government to create inclusive opportunities for everyone to access education.

Speaking at a religious ceremony on Saturday, January 18, in Khost province, Stanekzai emphasized that there must be no excuse for keeping educational institutions closed.

He stated: “Our request from the leaders of the Islamic Emirate is to open the doors of knowledge to everyone, unconditionally, within the framework of Islamic principles; the world is also at odds with us on this matter”

Stanekzai further emphasized that appointments in institutions should be based on merit and that work must be assigned to qualified professionals.

He also noted that if the current system enjoys the support of the citizens, no power will be able to stand against it.

For over three years, Abbas Stanekzai has repeatedly called on the Islamic Emirate to ensure that all Afghan citizens have access to education.
