MONITORING (SW) – The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) has announced that South Korea has donated 5 million dollars to Afghanistan.
In a statement posted on its website on Tuesday, December 31 of 2024, the WFP said that this donation will be used to enhance food security, combat malnutrition, provide food for students, and strengthen family economies.
The WFP added that this aid will benefit 37,000 citizens of Afghanistan.
Previously, UN agencies, including the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), had announced that nearly 15 million people in Afghanistan currently require humanitarian assistance.
