OCHA announces $2.6 million in aid to Afghanistan

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced a $2.6 million aid contribution from Switzerland to Afghanistan.

In a post on its X account on Monday, January 13, OCHA stated that this assistance will support vulnerable people in Afghanistan.

OCHA also mentioned that approximately 22.9 million people in Afghanistan are in need of humanitarian aid this year (2025).

The UN humanitarian office in Afghanistan emphasized that to address the needs of these individuals, a budget of $2.24 billion is required.
