A traffic accident in Jowzjan has left one person dead and eight others injured, according to the provincial police command.
The incident occurred on Monday morning, on the Jowzjan-Balkh highway in the Khanaqa district, as a result of a collision between two speeding vehicles.
Abdul Satar Halimi, spokesperson for the Jowzjan Police Command, said that the injured victims were immediately transferred to the provincial hospital for treatment.
He added that their condition is reported to be stable.
Officials have pointed to driver negligence and excessive speed as the primary causes of the accident.
