KABUL (SW) – The newly appointed envoy of Tehran to Kabul has vowed to strengthen ties between Afghanistan and Iran.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the de-facto government announced on Sunday that Ali Reza Bikdeli, Iran’s newly appointed ambassador to Kabul, had met with Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.
Mr. Stanekzai stated that the political, economic, and cultural relations between Afghanistan and Iran will be further strengthened during the tenure of the new Iranian ambassador.
The Political Deputy also addressed the challenges faced by Afghan refugees in Iran and expressed hope that necessary facilities would be provided to facilitate the movement of Afghan citizens to Iran and resolve the issues of Afghan migrants in the country.
In this meeting, Ali Reza Bikdeli emphasized that Iran’s political, economic, and cultural relations with Afghanistan would expand further and reiterated the importance of utilizing available opportunities to continue and enhance bilateral relations.
Since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power, Afghanistan has maintained strong political, economic, and cultural relations with most neighboring countries, including Iran.
