Belarus’s first deputy foreign minister Luka Shevich has stated that his country seeks to cooperate with the Islamic Emirate de-facto government in Afghanistan in various sectors.
According to a statement posted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ deputy spokesperson Zia Ahmad Takal, Shevich raised this matter during a meeting with Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the political deputy head of the ministry.
During the meeting, the expansion of cooperation between Afghanistan and Belarus has been emphasized .
The statement added: “The two sides discussed the political and economic commonalities between Afghanistan and Belarus during this meeting.”
Stanekzai described the visit of the Belarusian deputy minister to Kabul as a significant development in bilateral relations and a positive start for long-term cooperation.
According to the statement, the two sides agreed to continue technical discussions to further expand cooperation between Afghanistan and Belarus.
The Belarusian delegation, which recently arrived in Kabul, has met with various officials of the Islamic Emirate, including the Acting Minister of Industry and Trade and officials from the Ministry of Interior Affairs over the past two days.
