At least 38 Afghan nationals freed from Pakistani jails

The Ministry of Repatriations and Refugees (MoRR) under the Islamic Emirate has announced the release of at least 38 Afghan citizens imprisoned in Pakistan.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the ministry reported that these Afghan detainees in Pakistan were freed and returned to Afghanistan on Monday, January 20.

According to the Torkham Border Authority, these individuals were detained in various parts of Pakistan for lacking legal documentation and spent four days in the “Haji Camp” before being transferred to their original destinations after receiving humanitarian assistance.

Previously, the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, announced that nearly 800 Afghan migrants had been arrested by Pakistani police, some of whom held valid residency documents.
