MONITORING (SW) – The Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan announced that the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) has donated $9 million to support Afghanistan.
In a statement released on Friday, the organization wrote on its X account that this aid will help empower Afghan communities to build resilience, hope, and sustainable solutions in challenging times.
The Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan was established by the United Nations in October 2021.
Its aim has been to address basic needs, respond to natural disasters, support human rights initiatives, and empower women in Afghanistan.
Previously, the UN-related organizations had reported that 23 million Afghans would need humanitarian assistance in the year 2024.
