KABUL (SW) – More than a hundred people got injured and killed in two separate road accidents in Ghazni province, said officials.
Local authorities in Ghazni say that these incidents occurred around 11:00 PM on Wednesday night, December 18, on the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
Hamidullah Nesar, the head of Information and Culture in Ghazni, told Salam Watandar that a tragic accident occurred due to a collision between a passenger bus of type “580” and a fuel tanker in the village of “Shahbaz” in the center of Ghazni.
Additionally, another “580” passenger bus collided with a cargo truck in the village of “Nani” in the Andar district of the province.
As a result of these incidents, 44 people traveling on the Kabul-Kandahar highway were killed, and 76 others sustained injuries.
The injured have been transferred to provincial and district hospitals in Ghazni for treatment. The condition of some of the injured in the traffic incidents is reported to be critical.
Local officials say that the death toll from these incidents may rise.
Authorities in Ghazni visited both accident sites, and all doctors and medical staff have been called to the health centers in the province.
