Perpetrators of Shiites’ massacre killed, arrested in Ghor

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate authorities have reported the detention and killing of those responsible for recent attacks on Shiite civilians in Sang Takht and Bandar Daikundi areas of Ghor province.

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, has announced in a statement that the security forces conducted a special operation against an ISIS hideout in Marko city, Ghor.

Mujahid stated that during this operation, two ISIS members, including one of their leaders, were killed, and several others were apprehended and subsequently confessed to their crimes. According to Mujahid, these individuals were involved in attacks against Hazaras in Sang Takht and Bandar, Daikundi, last month and had also participated in other assaults in Ghor, Kabul, and Bamyan.

He noted: “This group was responsible for an attack in the center of Ghor, targeting Shiite civilians, which resulted in over 20 casualties. Following the operation, several members of this group were captured and confessed to their crimes. Today, Sunday, an operation was conducted in the Marko area of Ghor, leading to the deaths of this group’s leader and another key member.”

He also indicated that these ISIS members were directly led and guided from ISIS centers in Balochistan.

Military and political analysts “regard” the elimination of ISIS hideouts by the Islamic Emirate as a significant achievement, stating that this action enhances their global credibility and demonstrates their commitment to combating insurgents.

Military expert Aziz Stanekzai, says, “Wherever threats exist, it is essential to combat and eliminate them. The Islamic Emirate’s efforts to apprehend and neutralize ISIS members represent a major accomplishment. The more effort and action taken in this regard, the more it will enhance our political standing and relationships with the international community.”

A political analyst Mohammad Taher Yarghal emphasized that the Islamic Emirate’s actions against ISIS showcase their capability and dedication to tackling insurgent threats.

“They have fought seriously against ISIS across Afghanistan, either capturing or killing them and thwarting their plans. This commendable action prevents unnecessary civilian casualties. The Islamic Emirate can handle this situation independently and remains vigilant against any destructive activities by enemies,” said Yarghal.

It is noteworthy that on September 12, armed ISIS militants killed at least 14 civilians in the village of Qorudal, located on the border between Ghor and Daikundi, wounding several others. Shortly after this incident, ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack on these civilians.
