KABUL (SW) – Uzbekistan is set to host a series of important meetings and events organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
According to Uzbekistani media, the country will hold the 10th International Scientific-Practical Conference on combating international terrorism and extremism, the second conference of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) on counter-terrorism, and the planning for a joint counter-terrorism training exercise titled “2024 – Counter-Terrorism – East” with the participation of CIS countries.
These events are scheduled to take place from September 3 to 6, 2024, in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
The Uzbekistan media report highlights that these meetings and exercises are part of an annual rotation among SCO member states and CIS countries.
The primary aim of these gatherings is to exchange insights and experiences on organizing counter-terrorism efforts and developing a unified approach to address emerging security threats.
This initiative aims to enhance international cooperation in combating terrorism and extremism.
