MONITORING (SW) – Norway has contributed 1.8 million dollars to Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF), OCHA reported.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan did not specify the allocation of these funds, according to a statement released on Sunday, September 8, on its X account.
The organization noted that over the past decade, Norway has donated more than $17.5 million to Afghanistan’s Humanitarian Fund.
In the past year, several countries, including Sweden, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Switzerland, have also contributed to Afghanistan’s humanitarian fund.
Previously, United Nations agencies reported that in the 2024, nearly 24 million people, including 12.3 million children, in Afghanistan are in need of humanitarian assistance.
