Islamic Emirate claims human rights are ‘safeguarded’ in Afghanistan

KABUL (SW) – Hamdullah Fetrat, the deputy spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, has claimed that human rights are safeguarded in Afghanistan and that there is no “discriminatory treatment” against anyone.

In a statement posted on his X account on Thursday, September 26, Fetrat criticized certain countries for accusing the Islamic Emirate of “human rights violations” and “gender discrimination,” asserting that such claims are unfounded.

“Human rights are protected in Afghanistan, and there is no discriminatory treatment against anyone,” he stated.

He further emphasized that “unfortunately, efforts are underway to disseminate propaganda against Afghanistan based on false information provided by a few women, portraying the situation inaccurately worse.”

This comes after Caspar Veldkamp, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, tweeted on Wednesday night, September 25, that the condition of women and girls in Afghanistan is “heartbreaking.”
