Beehives in Panjshir produce staggering 2.7 tons of honey this year

BAZARAK CITY (SW) – Officials from the Panjshir Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock report that 2.7 tons of honey have been produced in the province this year.

Fazlullah Dewbandi, the head of the directorate, informed Salam Watandar that there are 43 small and large beekeeping farms in the province, consisting of 793 hives.

He added that Panjshir’s beekeeping farms are home to Italian and Caucasian bee species.

Dewbandi further mentioned that nearly 1,000 individuals are currently engaged in the beekeeping industry in these farms.

There has been no further information about the export of honey products from Panjshir.

Panjshir is renowned for its favorable climate and diverse flowers, contributing to its esteemed reputation for honey production throughout Afghanistan.
