KABUL (SW) – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan announced that the European Union has donated $1.3 million to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF).
In a statement released on Wednesday, on its official X account, OCHA confirmed the donation but did not specify how the funds will be allocated.
OCHA noted that ongoing support from international donors is vital for saving lives in Afghanistan.
According to OCHA, since 2022, the European Union has provided a total of $7.017 million in aid to Afghanistan.
Earlier, several international humanitarian organizations reported that nearly 24 million people in Afghanistan require humanitarian assistance in 2024.
