Islamic Emirate hopes for expanded relations with new Iranian government

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the citizens and government of Iran on the election of Masoud Pezeshkian as the new President.

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesperson for the ministry, expressed hope in a post late on Saturday, that with the election of the new President in Iran, the relations between the two neighboring countries in various sectors will expand more than ever before.

The newsletter stated: “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan hopes that with the establishment of the new government, relations between the two neighboring and Muslim countries will be strengthened in various fields.”

The second round of presidential elections in Iran was held on Friday, and based on the final results, Masoud Pezeshkian has been elected as the ninth President of the country with over 16 million and 384 votes.
