Islamic Emirate assures no terrorist groups operating in Afghanistan

KABUL (SW) – In response to Pakistan’s ongoing concerns and claims about security issues in Afghanistan, Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Pakistan’s special envoy for Afghanistan, has asserted that terrorist threats originating from Afghanistan are causing alarm for five neighboring countries.

The countries consist of Pakistan, China, Iran, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. On Tuesday, Durrani made these remarks at a meeting in Islamabad, emphasizing that the issue of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is a red line for his country.

However, the Islamic Emirate has once again assured that there is no terrorist threat emanating from Afghanistan. Hamdullah Fetrat, the deputy spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, told Salam Watandar: “There is no threat from Afghanistan against any country in the world or the region. The Islamic Emirate does not allow any military group to operate in Afghanistan. Afghanistan’s security and defense forces have full control over all its territories, and such concerns are unfounded.”

Additionally, Sirajuddin Haqqani, the acting Minister of Interior of the Islamic Emirate, dismissed the security concerns of some countries as rumors during the “National Labor Conference” in Kabul on Wednesday. He emphasized that Afghanistan faces no security challenges.

“We assure you that the security in Afghanistan is unmatched in many parts of the world. Although we have limited resources, the security we have is better than in many other countries,” Haqqani stated.

Meanwhile, some experts believe that Pakistan is attempting to exploit the issue of terrorism and security concerns to discredit Afghanistan on the global stage and secure its own interests.

Akbar Sial, a political analyst, said, “Pakistan aims to discredit Afghanistan internationally. Moreover, the countries mentioned by the Pakistani envoy have good relations with Afghanistan and would address any grievances directly with Afghanistan through embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, not through Pakistan.”

It is worth noting that Pakistan has been making contentious statements about Afghan issues for the past three years, occasionally leading to verbal disputes between officials of the two countries.
