Iran seeks to expand bilateral relations with Islamic Emirate

KABUL (SW) – Iran seeks to expand relations with the Islamic Emirate in various sectors, the de-facto Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Mohammad Abdul Kabir, the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, stated that establishing positive and constructive relations with neighboring countries is a key component of this government’s foreign policy.

Late Tuesday, the Presidential Palace (Arg) announced on its X account that Mohammad Abdul Kabir discussed this issue in a meeting with Ahmad Wahidi, Iran’s Minister of Interior.

He stressed the importance of expanding relations between Iran and Afghanistan, and noted that the Islamic Emirate is working to transform Afghanistan into a part of regional development.

According to the statement, the two sides also discussed strengthening bilateral relations and addressing issues faced by Afghan migrants.

However, no specific sector has been mentioned.

In this meeting, Abdul Kabir further emphasized that the Islamic Emirate will not allow Afghan soil to be used against neighboring and regional countries.

Mohammad Abdul Kabir, accompanied by a delegation, visited Iran two days ago to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s new president, Masoud Pezeshkian.
