MONITORING (SW) – The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has announced that the UN Security Council will hold a meeting on Afghanistan this Friday evening, June 21.
UNAMA stated that its head, Roza Otunbayeva, will brief the Security Council on the current situation in Afghanistan.
The Security Council last held a meeting on Afghanistan in mid-March, 2024.
This upcoming meeting precedes the third session of special envoys for Afghanistan.
The session is scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, on June 30 and July 1, hosted by the UN Secretary-General.
