Thousands of Afghan citizens return from Iran, Pakistan

MONITORING (SW) – The Ministry of Repatriations and Refugees (MoRR) announced that 1,122 Afghan citizens have returned from Iran and Pakistan, both voluntarily and involuntarily.

In a statement posted on its X account, the ministry noted that 1,041 of these individuals returned on Sunday via the “Silk Bridge” route in Nimruz province.

Additionally, 81 people were forcibly returned from Pakistan through the Torkham border crossing the same day.

The return of Afghan citizens from Iran and Pakistan has surged over the past year, with dozens of individuals crossing the border daily, both voluntarily and through forced repatriation.
