Islamic Emirate reaffirms non-use of Afghan soil for terrorism

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate has once again rejected claims about the presence or activities of terrorist groups within Afghanistan and reiterated its commitment to not allow Afghan soil to be used against other nations.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the de-facto government, stated that no extremist groups are operating in Afghanistan.

“We reject these claims; they are false and have unfortunately been repeated and denied many times. Afghanistan is committed to ensuring that no harm comes to any country from its soil, and we are precisely dedicated to this,” he said.

On Wednesday, the Pakistan Army released a statement alleging that recent anti-security incidents in the country were orchestrated from Afghanistan. The statement mentioned that Pakistani security forces have eliminated 29 militants in the past month in Balochistan and other areas along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

Pakistan has urged the Islamic Emirate to act responsibly in ensuring security along their shared border.

Meanwhile, several international relations experts argue that Pakistan is using such claims to destabilize Afghanistan.

Abdul Wahed Hakimi, an expert in international relations, said, “Pakistan has always been a troublemaker for Afghanistan; it does not support a stable and sustainable Afghanistan. Pakistanis have always looked for excuses in Afghanistan; these attacks in Pakistan could be carried out by others, separatists, those supported by India. They themselves have been a field for training extremism.”

Another international relations expert, Shafiqullah Sadat, added that Pakistan is responsible for its own poor security situation. “Pakistan has had an unstable system throughout history. It is now caught in these problems; their economy is collapsing, and they are responsible for all these issues,” he added.

These allegations by the Pakistan Army come after Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, during a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) earlier this week, called for guarantees from the Islamic Emirate to combat terrorism.
