KABUL/ISLAMABAD (SW) – The de-facto government of the Islamic Emirate has firmly refuted claims made by Asif Ali Khan Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan, regarding the establishment of bases to the Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) within Afghanistan by the Islamic Emirate.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, told Salam Watandar that Afghanistan categorically prohibits any use of its soil for actions against Pakistan.
Mujahid emphasized, “These allegations pertain to Pakistan, and Afghanistan will not permit its territory to be used against any neighboring nation. The responsibility for resolving internal issues lies with each country. There is no place for TTP activities in Afghanistan; we do not permit our soil be used against Pakistan.”
Despite Durrani’s recent assertions, political analysts urge both Pakistan and Afghanistan to seek diplomatic channels for resolving such disputes.
Aziz Stanekzai, a political expert, dismissed Durrani’s claims as divorced from reality. He said, “Such assertions lack credibility. Pakistan should know that these attacks are organized and carried out from within its own territory and these problems must be addressed through diplomatic means.”
Mirwais Naseri, a political analyst, emphasized the importance of adapting international laws and employing diplomatic means to mitigate tensions. He stated, “To address apprehensions regarding terrorist activities in Afghanistan, Afghanistan should become a lawful state, and engage in diplomatic dialogue to tackle this issue.”
Recent tensions escalated further when the Pakistani military alleged that an attack on Chinese citizens convoy originated from Afghan soil. In response, Islamic Emirate’s ministry of defense spokesperson asserted that Pakistani soil is being utilized against Afghanistan, highlighting instances where ISIS infiltrated Afghanistan from Pakistan.
