Afghan-Pakistan border crossings closed due to Pakistani national elections

MONITORING (SW) – The Torkham, Gholam Khan, and Dand Aw Patan border crossings have been temporarily closed to all traffic since the Thursday daybreak (12:00 am).

The reason for the closure of these border crossings are reportedly the ongoing national elections in Pakistan, according to officials.

Naqibullah Safi, the executive director of the Afghanistan-Pakistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, confirmed the closure of the crossings and mentioned that they are expected to be reopened tomorrow.
