KABUL (SW) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Pakistan have reached a consensus to alleviate tensions, paving the way for the return of their ambassadors to the host countries.
In a recent statement on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran announced a telephone conversation between Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and Jalil-Abbas Jilani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Interim Government of Pakistan.
Both parties expressed a shared commitment to prioritize mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity in their cooperation, underlining the significance of these principles for the collaborative efforts between the two nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran further added that Jalil-Abbas Jilani has extended an invitation to Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs for an official visit to Pakistan.
The recent missile attacks between Iran and Pakistan, targeting specific areas in each other’s territories last week, prompted both nations to recall their respective ambassadors.
