KABUL (SW) – Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, has said the acting head of the ministry, Amir Khan Muttaqi has met with Zhao Xing, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi said in a statement that in this meeting, there was a discussion about raising the level of bilateral diplomatic relations, bilateral security and economic issues and recent regional developments.
Amir Khan Muttaqi expressed his satisfaction with the hospitality and “good results of discussions” during his recent visit to China and said that the bilateral relations between the Islamic Emirate and China are expanding.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Chinese ambassador in Kabul has described his country’s relations with Afghanistan as well and has expressed his country’s interest in expanding diplomatic relations.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi added that during this meeting, the forced deportation of Afghan immigrants from Pakistan was also discussed and Mr. Muttaqi clarified about the Afghan government’s measures to welcome and resettle Afghan immigrants.
Mr. Balkhi stated: “The foreign minister also explained to the Chinese ambassador about the forced deportation of immigrants with the arrival of the cold season, the expropriation of their property and other rights, and many other problems.”
In this meeting, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul expressed his hope that the governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan will be able to solve this problem in a good way and expressed his country’s readiness to help in this regard.
