Trade consignment from China arrives via train

KABUL (SW) – Officials at the Afghanistan Railway Authority say that a shipment of commercial goods has arrived in Afghanistan from China.

They added that this cargo, which includes 22 containers of parts of transportation equipment, was loaded from China and arrived at Haritaran port after 10 days.

According to officials, this train entered Afghanistan on Monday via the multi-modal railway “China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan” through the port of Hairatan.

Bakht al-Rahman Sharaft, the general director of the Afghanistan Railway Autority, says: “Today, a new shipment of 22 containers arrived at the commercial port of Hairatan. Another shipment, which included 42 containers, had also arrived at the commercial port of Hairatan.”

On the other hand, the local officials of Balkh emphasized that having economic relations with the countries of the region is important for the economic growth of the country.

Mohammad Yusuf Wafa, governor of Balkh, said: “Islamic Emirate has good economic interaction with neighboring countries so that we can achieve economic self-sufficiency. In the near future, we will also activate the air corridors.”

At the same time, the representatives of Uzbekistan, who were present at the arrival of the train of commercial goods in Haritaran port, also emphasized the economic development and increase of trade between this country and Afghanistan and the creation of more facilities for Afghan businessmen.

Hekmatullah Rehmatov, the vice president of Uzbekistan Railways, told Salam Watandar: “We are with Afghanistan to facilitate the transfer of commercial property. In the near future, we will announce the completion of the railway between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan. Together, we are trying to export a lot of commercial goods from Uzbekistan to other countries.”

Previously, about 42 containers of commercial and transit goods have entered Afghanistan from China through the multimodal “China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan” railways.
