Pakistan urged to resolve bilateral matters through talks

KABUL (SW) – Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi has urged Pakistan to resolve its differences with Afghanistan through diplomatic talks.

Amir Khan Muttaqi made these statements during a meeting with the representatives of Pakistan and China on the sidelines of the Moscow format meeting.

At the same time, Bilal Karimi, Deputy Spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, told Salam Watandar that diplomatic efforts are the only way to solve the problems.

Although he did not consider the existing problems between Afghanistan and Pakistan to be serious, he insisted that no one will be allowed to use Afghan soil against neighboring countries and other countries. He said: “Our relationship is not so superficial that it can be considered abnormal, but it can still be said that we believe in diplomatic solutions in any area where there are problems.”

Muttaqi made these statements at a time when, during the recent days, in the press conferences of Pakistani high officials, Afghanistan is being criticized for the deterioration of the security situation in the country.

Almost three weeks ago, a delegation led by Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, Asif Khan Durrani, visited Kabul with the aim of resolving the existing differences between the two countries.

At the same time, the foreign minister of the interim government of Pakistan, Jalil Abbas, claimed in a press conference last Thursday that the delegation of the Islamic Emirate has been informed of the arrest of a number of members of the Pakistani Taliban. But Bilal Karimi, deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, said he was not aware about it.

Political analyst Yusuf Amin Zazai believes that Pakistan’s claims about Afghanistan should be investigated by the United Nations. He said: “We can solve our problems with Pakistan through the international community, which should intervene and listen to the voice of the people of Afghanistan.”
