MAZAR-E-SHARIF (SW) – A number of Mixed Martial Arts athletes in Balkh say that they have been denied participation in foreign competitions due to the cancellation of their visas.

A freestyle wrestling competition was held two months ago in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

Fawad Ahmad Waziri, a freestyle wrestling athlete in Balkh, says that due to the cancellation of his visa by the Islamic Emirate, he could not participate in the competitions of this sport. He said: “I worked hard and practiced for months, but because the government canceled and did not issue my visa, I missed the opportunity to participate in the tournament two months ago in Tashkent city.”

The athletes of freestyle wrestling in Balkh asked the caretaker government to provide them with support and the opportunity to participate in overseas competitions.

At the same time, the sixth round of open wrestling competitions was held on Friday here with the presence of 22 athletes, including three athletes from Iran. It was organized by the “ZFC” organization in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, the center of Balkh.
