Pakistan’s treatment of Afghan refugees is intolerable, says Stanekzai

KABUL (SW) – Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says that Pakistan’s treatment of Afghan refugees in this country is intolerable.

Stanekzai expressed these words on Wednesday in a meeting held on the occasion of World Tourism Day in Kabul.

The political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that Pakistan should stop harassing Afghan refugees in this country and, according to him, should treat them according to international refugees laws.

In his words, Stanekzai emphasized that the neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, should avoid mistreating Afghan refugees, “continuing this situation will harm the relations between the two countries.”

Political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in this meeting, without naming any country, said that countries should stop making unnecessary and false statements about Afghanistan’s internal issues.

According to him, “the internal issues of each country must be resolved by that country, and other countries do not have the right to interfere in the internal issues of other countries.”

This is despite the fact that recently, the detention of Afghan refugees in neighboring countries, especially Pakistan, has intensified, which has caused concern for Afghan immigrants in this country.
