KABUL (SW) – Following the concerns and criticisms of the Pakistani authorities about the existence of security threats from Afghanistan, a delegation from the Pakistani government, headed by Asif Ali Khan Durrani, the country’s special representative for Afghanistan, came to Kabul and is currently engaged in discussions with the officials of the Islamic Emirate on improving bilateral relations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan announced in a news release that during the meeting of this delegation with Amir Khan Mutaqqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, security issues, trade and border problems and similar challenges of Afghan immigrants in Pakistan were discussed.
The newsletter also quoted Amir Khan Mutaqqi as saying that the security issues between Afghanistan and Pakistan should be resolved by a joint committee, and similarly, both sides emphasized on preventing unfortunate events on bilateral relations.
Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “During this meeting, the two sides emphasized that urgent measures should be taken to resolve the disputed issues and that in the future, any incident should be avoided. It should be prevented.”
At the same time, Anwar Haq Kakar, the Prime Minister of the interim government of Pakistan, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, called the fight against terrorism a priority of his country and emphasized that the attacks from Afghanistan against Pakistan should stop.
However, analysts are worried about the consequences of the continuation of such security concerns by other countries against Afghanistan and emphasize that the caretaker government must take practical steps to satisfy the world in the fight against terrorism.
Baqer Mohseni, expert on political issues, told Salam Watandar that: “The Islamic Emirate is always trying to seek international legitimacy, and on the other hand, the international community has established conditions that the world will recognize if the Islamic Emirate fights terrorism. And whenever these expressions of concern increase, the distance between the Islamic Emirate and the international community increases and the Islamic Emirate becomes more isolated.”
Weis Naseri, another expert on political issues, said in this regard: “The security of the world and the people of Afghanistan will be achieved when the government of the Taliban/Islamic Emirate complies with all international laws and conventions and there is a responsible, accountable and legal government in Afghanistan.”
It should be said that the fight against terror is one of the prerequisites of the international community for recognizing the Islamic Emirate.
