KABUL (SW) – In response to the recent meeting of the United Nations Security Council on Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, told Salam Watandar that the world and international organizations are only focusing on the “small issues”.
Mujahid added: “They have all their concentration on only two very small issues regarding the issues of Afghanistan; education of girls above grade seven and in universities or women’s work in some places that still remain, but they ignore all the other achievements.”
The United Nations Security Council held a meeting focusing on Afghanistan on Tuesday. In this meeting, the situation of Afghanistan, especially the situation of women in this country, was considered worrying.
Also, some participants in the Security Council meeting, such as Russia, have once again expressed concern about the threats of terrorism from Afghanistan.
The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, however, called the United Nations Security Council’s criticism of the situation in Afghanistan incorrect and said that the continuation of these concerns is not in the interest of Afghanistan and the international community.
This is despite the fact that girls and women in Afghanistan have been banned from education and work for more than two years.
During this time, the Islamic Emirate has repeatedly assured women to return to work and study with a new mechanism.
