Islamic Emirate rejects reports about terrorists acquiring US weapons in Afghanistan

KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate authorities have rejected charges of the militants using American arms procured from Afghanistan to attack Pakistani forces.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, yesterday in a press conference in Islamabad, the capital of this country, claimed that the weapons left over from the American forces in Afghanistan have reached terrorist groups, and this may pose a threat to the region, including create Pakistan

However, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, called the statements of Mumtaz Zahra Baloch as baseless and said that no person or group has access to the weapons left by the American forces in Afghanistan. He added that the Islamic Emirate does not allow Afghanistan’s soil or military equipment to be used against other countries.

The spokesman of the Islamic Emirate said: “These statements are completely baseless. All weapons are registered, no one has access to these weapons, except for the responsible institutions. There is no way for these weapons to be smuggled out or used arbitrarily. Pakistan should not make such accusations.”

On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan said that Islamabad has shared its concerns with the authorities of the Islamic Emirate regarding the access of terrorist groups to the weapons left over from the American forces in Afghanistan.

Bilal Karimi, one of the deputy spokespersons of the Islamic Emirate, said that there is no document on the smuggling or transfer of weapons left by the American forces from Afghanistan to other countries in the last two years.

He added: “It is not allowed to use a weapon or a bullet in an illegal way. The problems Pakistan is dealing with are its internal issues, none of our business. Afghanistan wants peace and stability in the region, especially the neighboring countries, and this is in the interest of all directions.”

At the same time, a number of experts in military affairs consider it unlikely that terrorist groups have obtained the weapons left over from America in Afghanistan and smuggle them out of the country, and they say that Pakistan is trying to put pressure on the Islamic Emirate and take advantage of other countries with such comments.

Asadullah Nadim, expert on military issues, said: “These statements have a propaganda and political aspect. On the other hand, Pakistan wants to unilaterally impose some of its demands on the Islamic Emirate. Therefore, by using such issues, it wants to put pressure on the Islamic Emirate.”

Sadiq Shinwari, another expert on military issues, said in this regard: “Pakistan wants to take political advantage and draw the attention of the world community to itself with such comments that terrorist groups have obtained weapons and to attract aid.” On the other hand, he wants to put pressure on the implementation of the agreements made in Doha.

It should be mentioned that Pakistani officials have repeatedly claimed that the military equipment left by the US in Afghanistan has strengthened terrorist groups something that has always been rejected by the authorities of the Islamic Emirate.
