KABUL (SW) – Officials of the Afghanistan Academy of Sciences say that during the past one year, they have established a “translation” center in this institution, through which 31 scientific works have been translated and 46 scientific research projects have been completed.
Officials of the Academy of Sciences, while presenting their annual report to the 16th National Accountability Program on Monday, also said that they have translated books from other national languages and from other languages into national languages in this center.
The secretary of the scientific department of the Academy of Sciences, Rafiullah Niazi, said that the translation center has started working last year with ten translations. He said: “Books are translated from Pashto to Dari and from Dari to Pashto and from English, Arabic, and Urdu to the national languages, among which the books that were first translated and printed are “Sultan Shahi Tarikh”, “Muhzeen-e-Afghani” and “Philosophy of Tishba in Islam.”
This member of the Academy of Sciences added that currently 15 translators are working in the translation center. According to the officials of this agency, in the last one year, they have published 36 magazines and 33 volumes of books and published 246 articles.
He added: “33 volumes of academic and research books have been published in the Academy of Sciences, among which are the border and administrative divisions of Afghanistan throughout history, Ariana, ancient Afghanistan, and the history of Sultans of Afghanistan.”
In the state accountability program to the nation, the officials of the Academy of Sciences said that they have completed 46 research and scientific projects for the past one year and it has been decided that some of the 170 scientific and research projects that are underway by the end of this year will be completed.
The officials of the Academy of Sciences want the Islamic Emirate to increase the number of staff of this foundation in order to expand scientific research in the society.
