MONITORING (SW) – Female foreign ministers from six countries have issued a joint statement calling for the immediate cancellation of the Islamic Emirate’s restrictions against women and girls in Afghanistan.
In this statement issued after the end of their two-day meeting in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, these six foreign ministers called for real, complete, equal and safe participation of women and girls in Afghanistan.
This statement was issued by the foreign ministers of Germany, France, Indonesia, South Africa, Liechtenstein and Mongolia.
The statement said: “We ask the Taliban/Islamic Emirate to immediately take back measures that prevent women and girls from enjoying their basic rights and freedoms, especially regarding their access to education and employment, freedom of movement and real, full and equal participation in life.”
In this statement, female foreign ministers from six countries have asked all the countries of the world to use their influence to immediately stop the Islamic Emirate’s restrictions against women in Afghanistan, according to the United Nations Charter.
After returning to power nearly two years ago, the Islamic Emirate banned the education of girls and prevented millions of female students from education.
Last year, the Islamic Emirate government banned women from working in international aid institutions, and in addition, Afghan women and girls are prohibited from going to public places, traveling without a male relative, and going to recreational areas.
Contrary to domestic and foreign reactions, the Islamic Emirate has not shown any relaxation in this regard.
It should be mentioned that before this, female foreign ministers from 16 countries had demanded the cancellation of the Islamic Emirate’s restrictions against Afghan women and girls.
