Russia invites Islamic Emirate delegation to Moscow

MONITORING (SW) – Russia has invited the Islamic Emirate delegation to a forthcoming international conference in Moscow.

This is despite the fact that neither an inclusive government has been formed in Afghanistan nor has the concerns of the participants of the previous Moscow format meeting been addressed.

According to the announcement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this invitation was handeed over to acting minister of foreign affairs, Amir Khan Mutaqqi by the Russian Ambassador to Kabul, Dmitry Zhirnov. The MoFA said the Russian ambassador has invited the acting minister of foreign affairs to participate in the upcoming meeting of the Moscow format.

Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said: “Mutaqqi sahib appreciated Russia’s invitation and emphasized that the Moscow format meeting for regional harmony plays an important role.”

Political experts believe that by inviting the caretaker government to the upcoming Moscow-style meeting, Russia wants to share its concerns about Afghanistan and its demands in this regard face-to-face with the officials of this government.

Tariq Farhadi, analyst on political issues, said: “There has been no change or improvement in the complaints of neighboring countries about terrorism. They want to say their message face to face as relations have not improved.”

Some other political experts believe that it is important to invite a representative of the current Afghan government to the Moscow meeting, but they expect that a practical decision will be taken in this meeting to solve Afghanistan’s problems.

Baqer Mohseni, another expert on political issues, emphasized that solving Afghanistan’s political problems at the international level requires solving the country’s internal problems.
He said: “As long as the political problems remain inside Afghanistan, I believe that the problems of the system will not be solved at the international level.”
