QALA-E-NAU (SW) – Shamsullah Shamshad, the district governor of Souf Valley, Samangan, confirmed that three children were killed and two others were injured as a result of a mortar shell explosion in this district at around 9:00 am on Monday.
According to Mr. Shamshad, these children were killed and injured as a result of the explosion of the mortar head in the village of “Jangal” in the district, when they were playing games and were trying to move this mortar head from one place to another.
The district governor aadded that as a result of this incident, three children, including a girl, died and two other boys were injured.
Shamsullah Shamshad said that the injured have been transferred to the district medical center and are under intensive care.
