SAR-E-PUL (SW) – A woman who was sexually assaulted with her two daughters in Sar-e-Pul demands justice.

One of the woman’s relatives, who did not want to be named, told Salam Watandar that two people named Mohammad Nader and Mohammad Tahir, who are residents of “Khanqah” village in Sozme Qala district, sexually assaulted this lady and her two daughters at night in the said district.

According to the relatives of this woman, the people who sexually assaulted these three women are members of the Islamic Emirate. Video tapes of this family demanding justice and narrating this story have been widely reflected on social media since a week ago, and many citizens have condemned it and demanded the punishment of the perpetrators of this event.

Women’s rights activists living outside the country have dubbed this event as a “disaster” and asked the international community to closely examine the situation.

Amnesty International has also asked the government of the Islamic Emirate to probe the accusations of sexual assault by members of the Islamic Emirate on a woman and her two daughters in Sar-e-Pul and to start an “independent, transparent and impartial investigation” into these accusations.

On the other hand, Din Mohammad Nazari, the spokesperson of the Sar-e-Pul security command, says that based on the claim of two women, two people named Mohammad Nader and Mohammad Tahir were arrested on the charge of committing adultery . He said investigations are ongoing in this regard.

The spokesperson of the the security command denies the claim that the arrested people are members of the Islamic Emirate.

Despite our efforts, we could not get the views of other members of this family.
