No achievements in agriculture despite natural resources, says minister

KABUL (SW) – Attaullah Omari, acting head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, has said that despite the fact that Afghanistan is a rich country in terms of natural resources and agriculture, it does not have significant achievements in this field.

He made these statements at the opening meeting of the “Agricultural Development Fund’s Islamic Financial Products” in Kabul on Sunday.

According to him, the efforts made in the agriculture sector are not enough and it is necessary to pay serious attention to this sector.

The Acting head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock also said at the meeting that through the Agricultural Development Fund, Afghan farmers will be given billions of afghanis worth of loans every year.

On the other hand, in this meeting, the acting head of the Ministry of Information and Culture called on the international aid organizations to help the farmers in the country, so that they can resolve their problems.

Khairullah Khairkhah also asked the leaders of the Islamic Emirate to start construction of small dams for water storage.
