Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid meets U.S. envoy in the UAE

KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Defense of the Government of the Islamic Emirate has confirmed the meeting between the Acting Minister of the Ministry, Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, and Thomas West, the United States Special Representative for Afghanistan.

The ministry said in a statement that during his trip to the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Mujahid met and talked with Thomas West in the city of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. In this meeting, the two sides discussed the issues of Afghanistan.

In this meeting, the Acting Minister of Defense assured the US Special Representative that “Afghanistan is safe and all the border points are secure, and there is no threat from within the territory of Afghanistan to the countries of the region or the world, and there will be no threat from the territory of Afghanistan against anyone.”

Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid went to the United Arab Emirates on Saturday at the head of a delegation.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that in the recent meeting, the Acting Minister of the Ministry asked Thomas West that the world respects the territorial integrity of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the purpose of the acting minister’s visit is to meet with the leaders of the United Arab Emirates and Afghans living in this country and to strengthen the relations of the Islamic Emirate with the Gulf countries.
