KABUL (SW) – A number of female graduates from a private university on Thursday urged the Islamic Emirate to grant women and girls their due rights for education and jobs.
The female graduates said that on the heels of the decades of wars and destruction, a number of families are now being led by women only.
Fatema Mominyar, one of the graduates, asked the Islamic Emirate not to prevent women from working. “There are more restrictions on women as some women are heads of their families, they should be allowed to work.”
These graduates said that they have hardly been able to complete their education to the stage of graduation.
Tamna Miakhil, one of the graduates, said that women have the capacity to manage government and non-government offices. “Women are half of the society and have the ability to manage government offices, and they should be given the opportunity to work.”
Restrictions on women’s work have been imposed while hundreds of girls graduate from universities and post-secondary institutions across the country every year.
It should be noted that the complaints about the lack of job opportunities for women have increased while the spokesmen of the Islamic Emirate have repeatedly said that dozens of women have been provided job opportunities in government offices.
Despite this, according to reports, except for a few specific offices, women are not allowed to work in other government offices.
