Blast in Takhar injures eight people

TALUQAN (SW) – A blast in Taluqan city, capital of Takhar province, has injured at least eight people, confirmed officials.

Local sources in Takhar confirmed to Salam Watandar the explosion in Taluqan. According to the sources, this explosion took place around 9:40 in the morning.

Meanwhile, Takhar security officials confirmed the explosion and said that it hit the third security area of Taleghan city.

Abdul Mobeen Safi, the spokesman of the Takhar Security Command, said that the explosion was caused by a landmine, and as a result, four civilians were injured.

A source from the provincial hospital of Takhar, who did not want to be named, told Salam Watandar that eight injured people, including a child, were transferred to this hospital from the place of the explosion.

Qutbuddin Sharifi, the head of the a private hospital, told Salam Watandar that as a result of this explosion, in addition to financial losses, four employees of this hospital were also injured.

Mr. Sharifi added that the government should pay serious attention to the security of citizens, especially health centers.

No person or group has yet claimed responsibility for this explosion.
