Badakhshan security chief among 3 killed in explosion

FAIZABAD (SW) – An explosion in Faizabad city, capital of Badakhshan proivnce, has claimed the lives of at least three people, including the provincial security chief. 

Abdul Nafi Takour, the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, has asid that this morning the explosives that were embedded in a high-speed car exploded near the Badakhshan Security Command building.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Interior added that as a result of this explosion, three people, including Abdulhaq Abu Omar, the commander of Badakhshan security, were killed and two others were injured.

Local sources in Badakhshan have said that the number of injured in this incident is six.

Mr. Takur emphasized that the police have arrested four suspects in connection with this incident.

No person or group has yet claimed responsibility for this explosion.

However, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior has called this incident as the work of “enemies of the people of Afghanistan”.
