Road accident on Salang highway claims nine lives

PUL-E-KHUMRI (SW) – Health officials in Baghlan say that nine people died and 40 others were injured due to a traffic accident on the Salang highway in ​​Khanjan district of this province.

The officials at the provincial hospital in Pul-e-Khumri city added that nine dead and 40 injured have been brought to this hospital.

Director of the hospital, Shah Wali told Salam Watandar that a bus, which was travelling from Kabul to Baghlan, went off the road on the highway resulting in the accident. They described the health condition of the two passengers in this incident as worrying.

It is worth noting that most of the injured in this incident are residents of Balkh, Faryab and Jawzjan provinces.

At the Salang highway, which connects Kabul and the southern provinces with the north, drivers face many problems in the winter season, and road damage and snowfall are the factors that cause such incidents from time to time.
