KABUL (SW) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said that floods caused by climate change in Afghanistan and other South Asian countries have affected the lives of millions of children.

UNICEF has tweeted that 15 million children in these countries need help.

UNICEF said it is now crucial to prepare children for life in a climate-changing world through climate change education.

Following the vulnerability of drought in recent years, Afghanistan has also experienced devastating floods this year, which have left huge losses in this country.

According to the officials of the Islamic Emirate, the consequences of climate change in the current year have caused more than two billion dollars of damage to Afghanistan.

Earlier, the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan said that while Afghanistan is the sixth most affected country from climate change, it is the least prepared to combat it.
