DABS warns to cut off power supply of defaulters

KABUL (SW) – The power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, has vowed to cut off electricity supply of the defaulters.

Officials of the DABS has said that if the company’s debts are not paid, they will sell off the properties of the debtors. Hikmatullah Meyvandi, the spokesperson of DABS, said that if they do not pay their debts, they will sell their properties.

According to him, the total amount of these debts is close to 500 million afghani, and in total, 329 people owe the DABS.

Meywanndi added that before this, DABS had told all its debtors to pay their debts but until now, only 33 people are ready to pay their debts.

Even though the authorities of the power utility did not reveal the identity of their debtors but the company spokesman said that most of the debtors are politicians and powerful people of the previous government.
