KABUL (SW) – A number of Internally Displaced Persons complain about not having access to the basic needs of life.
The IDPs from various provinces who have taken refuge in Kabul due to war and natural disasters, narrated their appalling living conditions and complained about the carelessness of the caretaker government of the Islamic Emirate.
Displaced people say that they do not have access to enough food, a suitable place to continue living, and shelter. They want the Islamic Emirate to pay attention to the plight of the displaced.
“We came here out of misery,” says Traub, an IDP. He said the displaced families are finding difficult even to have a simple bread for meal.
Mohammad Ahsan, another internally displaced person, said: “Prepare shelter for us, provide us with humanitarian and emergency aid.”
We wanted to have the opinion of the officials of the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees in the report, but Abdul Mutallab Haqqani, the spokesman of this ministry, did not answer our calls.
However, Bilal Karimi, one of the deputy spokespersons of the Islamic Emirate, told Salaam Watandar that the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees, the Ministry of Disaster Management, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development and the Afghan Red Crescent Society are working to improve the situation of the displaced and provide them with public services. He said these offices have taken effective measures and this process is still going on.
