Earthquake aftershocks spreads fear in Paktika

SHARANA (SW) – Earthquake aftershocks in Paktika province has spread fears among the devastated population.

Officials of the Public Health Department of Paktika say that since yesterday evening, 30 earthquake aftershocks with a frightening sound have occurred in the village of “Zheli” in the Gyan district of this province.

Hekmatullah Esmat, head of public health in Paktika, has asked the government and related departments to conduct a geological survey in Gyan district as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, a local source from the Gyan district told Salam Watandar that since yesterday evening, 30 earthquake aftershocks with a scary sound have occurred in this district.

According to the source, people have left their homes due to the fear of the earthquake and are living outdoors.

According to local officials, as a result of the earthquake last evening in Gyan district, 10 people were injured.
