“World does not have the authority to decide on the hijab of our sisters”

MONITORING (SW) – Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, head of the Ministry of Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil, has said the world does not have the authority to decide on the hhijabin Afghanistan.

The Bakhtar state news agency wrote on Twitter, quoting Mohammad Khalid Hanafi, head of the Ministry of Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil, that the countries of the world do not have this authority.

This Saturday, the Ministry of Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil issued a decree on women’s hijab. According to this decree, from now on, all women must observe the hijab, and in case of violation, the men of their families will be punished.

In this decree, “black chador and hijab” are mentioned as examples of hijab and it is emphasized that it is better for women to leave the house only when needed. At the same time, according to this decree, female employees in government institutions will be fired if they do not observe the hijab.

This decree of the Islamic Emirate has provoked widespread internal and external reactions.

State Department spokesman Ned Price said the US government would increase pressure on the Taliban if it did not change its recent decree on Afghan women and girls.
