KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate authorities have directed security forces to help the power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat in collecting revenue.
The meeting of the Economic Commission of the Islamic Emirate, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, First Deputy Prime Minister, was held today.
The first deputy prime minister issued a statement saying that the meeting was tasked the security agencies to work with the company to collect the debts of the DABS from government agencies and the powerful defaulters.
According to the statement, DABS said that after the Islamic Emirate took office and before that, many government agencies and powerful people had not paid the debts of this company, due to which the firms was faced with economic issues.
The Economic Commission has also instructed the Da Afghanistan Bank and representatives of state-owned companies to prepare a systematic solution to reduce banking restrictions on state-owned companies.
The commission also mandated all ministries, as approved by the 28-member cabinet, to prepare their economic and development projects and submit them to the leadership.
Earlier, DABS had announced that a number of industrialists, politicians and businessmen owed the company 26 billion afghanis, and if this debt was not paid, it would not be able to pay the the electricity exporting countries.
